What is KNX?

Put simply KNX is an open standard communication protocol developed specifically for Building and Home Automation.  Utilising a decentralised structure, each KNX device has the capability to perform its own function without the need to communicate through a central server unit.

What Can I Control?

KNX devices can manage functions including Lighting, HVAC, Security Systems, Audio/Video, Energy Management, Shutters and Blinds.  There are now over 7,000 KNX approved products available from the world’s leading electrical brands providing the flexibility to mix and match between manufactures as all devices communicate on a single common language.

How Do KNX Devices Connect?

We thought you’d never ask.  The network topology of the KNX system allow devices to be connected in a star, tree, daisy chain or a combination of all configurations via a KNX certified cable.  With it’s distinctive green jacket, KNX cable is easily identifiable within any installation, and will always have the KNX logo marked at regular intervals.

Available in 1pr or 2pr, Maser’s KNX cable has the added benefit of a LSZH sheath which is perfect for Green Star rating requirements.
