GPON

GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) and XGS-PON (10 Gigabit Symmetrical Passive Optical Network) are different standards for delivering high-speed internet via optical fibre. GPON provides symmetrical speeds of 2.5Gbps downstream and 1.25Gbps upstream, while XGS-PON offers symmetrical 10Gbps speeds for both downstream and upstream.
